Senior Release Manager

About you
As Senior Release Manager, you will be responsible for creating, owning, and improving the internal and customer facing change process in Clue and ensuring all releases are a success. This includes application updates, patches, security improvements, customer specific releases as well as core roadmap planned releases. You will work collaboratively with all areas of the business to ensure a smooth deployment of all technology projects to our customers, including Technology, QA, Support, Customer Success, and Product.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the 'go to' authority on all matters concerning Release Management at Clue.
- Lead the Go-Live activities to deploy the software successfully.
- Ensure releases are planned, according to the requirements and budget.
- Create plans for the implementation and deployment as per the release schedule.
- Schedule the release readiness reviews before deployment and milestone reviews after each release.
- Ensure the correct allocation of Release Engineers for every release & co-ordinate the deployment rollout.
- Maintain documentation related to procedures on build and release, various notifications lists, and dependencies.
- Schedule meetings to discuss the release schedules with the team and find roadblocks if any.
- Communicate project-related tasks such as plans, timelines, requirements, etc. between different teams.
- Coordinate the release schedule and resources required depending upon the third-party applications, defect backlogs, planned releases, and infrastructure updates.
- Managing risks and resolving challenges that impact release scope, quality, and schedules.
- Identify the risks that can delay the release and manage them, such that the scope scheduled, and quality of the release is not affected.
Job purpose
- Ensuring the successful planning, coordination, governance, and execution of Clue product releases and streamlining the release management process.

Experience and skills
Our ideal candidate would have experience in the following areas:
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar position, within a SaaS or technology environment
- Formal project management training or 5 years’ experience in delivering projects with cross functional teams/stakeholders.
- Experience of managing and improving change and release processes.
- Demonstrable knowledge of ITIL or similar service delivery methodologies with an emphasis on change management.
- Advanced knowledge of software development lifecycles
- Excellent communication skills, with an ability to position updates & decisions to a non-technical (and technical) audience.
- Broad knowledge of enterprise IT systems and application components, ideally in cloud-based environments.
- Results focused and customer obsessed, wants to deliver to high customer satisfaction.
- Process orientated, can map processes, and consult to best practices.
- Problem solver with willingness to take ownership of issues to resolve.
- Able to work independently and manage a variety of projects simultaneously.
- An understanding and proficiency in working as an active member of an agile development team, and the ability to demonstrate a good knowledge of Scrum.
- Proactive attitude with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Flexible and adaptable to ongoing change.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills, and cooperative outlook. Good written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of using Azure DevOps to manage your work, as well as maintenance of build and deployment pipelines, alongside Octopus Deploy.
- Experience in Continuous integration and Continuous development systems in Azure.
